Our Story from Bengaluru

Founded in 2018 in the heart of India's Silicon Valley, Re-Design Sports was born from a simple observation: the sports industry was generating immense waste, and athletes were seeking more ethical choices.

Our journey began in a small workshop in Koramangala, where our founders—a materials engineer and a former national-level runner—experimented with recycled polyester from plastic bottles. Today, we operate a state-of-the-art, vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Peenya Industrial Area, employing over 120 skilled craftspeople from the local community.

We are deeply rooted in the spirit of Karnataka—innovation, resilience, and respect for nature. Our designs draw inspiration from the dynamic landscapes of the Western Ghats and the vibrant energy of Bengaluru itself. Every stitch reflects our commitment to quality, durability, and reducing landfill waste.

RePET Revolution

Our primary fabric is sourced from post-consumer PET bottles collected from Indian cities, including Bengaluru's own waste management programs. Each kilogram of our fabric diverts approximately 60 bottles from landfills and oceans. The bottles are cleaned, shredded, and polymerized into high-tenacity yarn that matches virgin polyester in performance but with a 75% lower carbon footprint. Our partnership with "Clean Bengaluru Initiative" ensures traceable and ethical sourcing.

Dynamic Moisture Control

Engineered for the humid Indian climate, our proprietary moisture-wicking technology uses capillary action within the recycled fiber structure to pull sweat away from the skin to the fabric's outer surface, where it evaporates rapidly. This keeps athletes dry and comfortable during intense workouts in Bangalore's heat or Mumbai's humidity. Independent lab tests show a 40% faster drying time compared to conventional sportswear.

Plant-Based Blends

For our upcoming "Earth Series," we are integrating fibers from sustainably harvested Indian bamboo and organic cotton grown in Tamil Nadu. These natural fibers are blended with our recycled polyester to create fabrics with exceptional breathability, natural antimicrobial properties, and a softer hand feel. The bamboo is processed using a closed-loop system that recycles 99% of the solvents, making it one of the most eco-friendly processes in the textile industry.
